Mind The Gap is a collaborative project between four partners from Finland, Norway, Poland and Slovenia. This Creative Europe funded project develops the methodology of art and culture education through laboratories.
Why Mind The Gap?
Mind the Gap fosters artistic and cultural education while promoting greater participation of children and youth across Europe. It builds cross-sectoral partnerships between culture and education to address key challenges impacting young people’s well-being.
Project partners from Finland, Norway, Poland, and Slovenia have identified common issues, such as declining mental health and increasing social divides among youth. These challenges are framed as gaps: in access to culture, in cooperation between education and culture, and within broader society. While these issues manifest differently across countries, the goal is to bridge these gaps.
Throughout the project, each partner creates a unique art education laboratory, sharing methods, offering peer reviews, and providing feedback. This collaborative approach equips children and youth with tools to enhance their well-being and self-expression.
Mind the GAP also offers networking and capacity-building opportunities for education and culture professionals, through national and international events, and easy-to-use method guides available in five languages.
