Children’s culture

Children’s arts and culture refers to art and culture produced by children, and for children by professional practitioners in different artistic and cultural fields. It bequeaths to children existing cultural heritage and culture created by children themselves, through such things as play. Even when adults are the focus of group activities, the aim of these activities is to promote children’s cultural rights.

At its most effective, arts and culture work can bestow lasting wellbeing. It is enhanced by the experiences of achievement and gratification gained from doing and experiencing art and culture, as well as by improved self-expression. Children’s arts and culture provide opportunities for collaboration, which can contribute to a sense of community, interaction and deeper social relationships.
