The Finnish model for leisure activities website is open
The Association of Finnish Children’s Cultural Centers has been nominated as a contact point for contact point. The contact point promotes the networking of municipalities and hobby organizers, as well as finding professionals for municipalities to implement hobbies for children and young people. The contact point collects and disseminates good municipal practices. The look is reflected in the communication of hobbies to children, young people, families and partners. The Finnish model for leisure activities website is opened as part of the contact point and it starts operating in August.
The regional government agencies have granted municipalities a grant to implement the Finnish model for the school year 2021-22. A total of EUR 17 million was received by 235 municipalities. Pilots of the Finnish model for leisure activities are currently underway in 117 municipalities around the country, which means that activities according to the model will expand significantly in the autumn. Grants are awarded to municipalities, but in addition to municipalities, representatives of both the private and third sectors can act as organizers of hobbies.
The aim is to anchor the Finnish model for leisure activities as a permanent approach in municipalities.
